Ingredients
  

  • 12 lasagna noodles uncooked, broken into pieces
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper optional, for heat

For Garnish (Optional):

  • Fresh basil or parsley

Instructions
 

Step 1: Cook the Meat

  • Brown the ground beef (or sausage) in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add diced onions and cook until soft.
  • Drain excess grease and stir in marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, and seasonings.

Step 2: Prepare the Cheese Mixture

  • In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, and half of the Parmesan.

Step 3: Assemble the Layers

  • Grease the slow cooker to prevent sticking.
  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom.
  • Add broken lasagna noodles, followed by ricotta mixture, shredded mozzarella, and more sauce.
  • Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with cheese on top.

Step 4: Slow Cook & Serve

  • Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours.
  • Once noodles are tender and cheese is melted, turn off the Crockpot.
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve hot.
