Prep Ingredients: Dice the onion, mince the garlic, and drain the beans (if using canned).
Sauté in Pot: In a large pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cook until soft (about 3 minutes).
Add Beans & Spices: Add chickpeas (or beans), chilies, vegetable broth, cumin, chili powder, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Simmer: Bring to a simmer, reduce heat, and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add Cream & Corn: Stir in coconut cream and corn. Let it cook for an additional 5-7 minutes.
Serve: Ladle into bowls and top with optional garnishes like fresh cilantro, avocado, or lime wedges.
