- 1 cup cooked black beans
- 1 cup cooked lentils
- 1/2 cup grated carrot
- 1/2 cup finely chopped bell pepper
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp ground flaxseed + 5 tbsp water vegan egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 3 tbsp vegan barbecue sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Mix flaxseed with water; let thicken 5 minutes.
Mash beans and lentils, then mix with vegetables, breadcrumbs, spices, and flax mixture.
Form 4 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
Brush patties with barbecue sauce and cook 4–5 minutes per side in skillet or on grill.
Serve on toasted buns with greens, pickles, or vegan condiments.
