- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips for spider bodies
- 1/2 cup melted chocolate for legs
- 12-15 small candy eyes
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until fully incorporated.
In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Flatten the balls slightly and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are golden.
While cookies cool, melt chocolate and pipe spider legs onto the cooled cookies.
Attach candy eyes and a chocolate chip for the spider’s body. Let them set.
