Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips for spider bodies
  • 1/2 cup melted chocolate for legs
  • 12-15 small candy eyes

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Flatten the balls slightly and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are golden.
  • While cookies cool, melt chocolate and pipe spider legs onto the cooled cookies.
  • Attach candy eyes and a chocolate chip for the spider’s body. Let them set.
