Instructions

  • Sauté onions and garlic: Add onions and cook for 5 minutes until golden. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add tomatoes and spices: Pour in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, chili flakes, paprika, cayenne, salt, black pepper, and oregano. Stir well.
  • Simmer: Lower the heat and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld.
  • Blend (optional): Use an immersion blender for a smoother texture if desired.
  • Taste and adjust: Add more chili flakes for extra heat or balance with sugar if it's too spicy.
  • Cool and serve: Let the sauce cool slightly before spreading on pizza dough.
