Ingredients
  

For the Beef:

  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda for tenderness

For the Sauce:

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or chili paste
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 1 fresh red chili sliced, optional

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the beef: Toss sliced steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, and baking soda. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Prepare the sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, black pepper, sriracha, and red pepper flakes.
  • Cook the broccoli: Heat oil in a wok. Stir-fry broccoli for 2 minutes, then remove from pan.
  • Sear the beef: In the same pan, add more oil. Sear steak on high heat for 2 minutes until browned.
  • Add aromatics: Stir in garlic, ginger, and fresh chili, cooking until fragrant.
  • Combine everything: Pour the sauce into the pan. Stir in the cooked broccoli.
  • Thicken the sauce: Add cornstarch slurry and cook for 1 minute until glossy.
  • Serve hot: Enjoy with rice or noodles and a glass of water if the heat gets too real.
