Ingredients
  

For the taco salad:

  • 1 lb ground turkey or beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups lettuce chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 cup red onion sliced
  • 1 avocado diced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped

For the guacamole:

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add ground turkey or beef and cook until browned.
  • Stir in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook for another 3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • In a large bowl, toss together chopped lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and seasoned protein.
  • In a separate bowl, mash avocados and mix with diced onion, tomatoes, lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to make the guacamole.
  • Serve the taco salad topped with a generous scoop of guacamole.
