For the taco salad:
- 1 lb ground turkey or beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups lettuce chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
- 1/2 cup red onion sliced
- 1 avocado diced
- 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
For the guacamole:
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Add ground turkey or beef and cook until browned.
Stir in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Cook for another 3 minutes, then remove from heat.
In a large bowl, toss together chopped lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and seasoned protein.
In a separate bowl, mash avocados and mix with diced onion, tomatoes, lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to make the guacamole.
Serve the taco salad topped with a generous scoop of guacamole.
