Ingredients
  

For the Apple Filling:

  • 4 large apples peeled, sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp arrowroot powder or tapioca starch
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

For the Crisp Topping:

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil melted
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease your baking dish.
  • In a bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, arrowroot, cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple syrup.
  • Pour apple mixture into the baking dish and spread evenly.
  • In another bowl, combine almond flour, nuts, coconut, coconut oil, syrup, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Stir topping until crumbly and well mixed—don’t overthink it.
  • Sprinkle topping over apples like you’re blessing them.
  • Bake for 35 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
  • Cool slightly before serving (unless you enjoy burning your mouth in the name of excitement).
