- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup cooked chicken optional
- ½ cup breadcrumbs for topping
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese for topping
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the macaroni according to package instructions, then drain.
In a saucepan, melt butter, add milk, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir in half the cheddar cheese and mix until melted.
Combine the cooked pasta, cheese sauce, and cooked chicken (if using) in a mixing bowl.
Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
Top with breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and the remaining cheddar cheese.
Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
