  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For the Sauce:

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger grated
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the beef: Coat the steak with cornstarch, soy sauce, and black pepper. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, lemon juice, honey, zest, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
  • Cook the beef: Heat oil in a wok over high heat. Sear the beef until browned and remove.
  • Stir-fry the broccoli: Add oil and cook broccoli until bright green but still crisp.
  • Combine and finish: Return beef to the wok, pour in the sauce, and stir to coat everything.
  • Thicken the sauce: Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for one minute until glossy.
  • Serve hot: Garnish with sesame seeds and enjoy over rice.
