- 8 oz king oyster mushrooms or 1 cup seitan strips
- 2 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tbsp liquid smoke
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Prep the Base:
Slice mushrooms into thin strips or prepare seitan similarly for perfect chew.
Make Marinade:
Mix tamari, liquid smoke, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
Marinate:
Toss strips in marinade, cover, refrigerate 1 hour to soak in the sass.
Dehydrate or Bake:
Lay pieces on dehydrator trays or baking sheet. Dehydrate at 135°F for 4 hours or bake at lowest oven temp until dry and chewy.
Cool and Store:
Let cool completely, then store in airtight container. Snack anytime.
