- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger grated
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
For the Stir-Fry:
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- ¼ cup water
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds optional
Marinate the beef: Toss steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, and baking soda. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
Make the sauce: Whisk together hoisin, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic.
Blanch the broccoli: Boil for 1 minute, then rinse under cold water.
Sear the beef: Heat oil in a wok. Cook beef for 2 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Cook the sauce: Pour hoisin mixture into the pan. Simmer for 1 minute.
Combine everything: Add beef and broccoli to the pan. Stir to coat.
Thicken the sauce: Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until glossy.
