  • Black beans — 1 cup mashed
  • Breadcrumbs — ½ cup
  • Olive oil — 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic — 2 cloves minced
  • Soy sauce — 1 tablespoon
  • Smoked paprika — 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder — 1 teaspoon
  • Salt — ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper — ¼ teaspoon
  • Burger buns — 4
  • Lettuce — 4 leaves
  • Tomato — 1 large sliced

Instructions
 

  • Place lentils (1½ cups) and black beans (1 cup) into a bowl.
  • Mash mixture until slightly chunky.
  • Add breadcrumbs (½ cup), garlic (2 cloves), and soy sauce (1 tablespoon).
  • Mix in smoked paprika (1 teaspoon) and onion powder (1 teaspoon).
  • Season with salt (½ teaspoon) and black pepper (¼ teaspoon).
  • Form mixture into 4 patties.
  • Heat olive oil (2 tablespoons) in a skillet.
  • Cook patties 6–7 minutes per side until firm.
  • Assemble patties inside buns with lettuce and tomato.
