For the Sandwich:
- 4 slices sourdough or multigrain bread
- ½ cup vegan cheddar or mozzarella shredded
- ½ apple thinly sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
- 1 tablespoon vegan butter
- Pinch of cinnamon optional
- Dash of salt and pepper
Optional Add-ons:
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup for drizzling
Heat skillet on medium.
Spread vegan butter on one side of each bread slice.
Place one slice buttered side down in the skillet.
Layer half the cheese evenly.
Add apple slices and sprinkle cinnamon, salt, and pepper.
Add remaining cheese and top with the second slice.
Grill for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and melty.
