Ingredients
  

For the Beef:

  • 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda for tenderness

For the Sauce:

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger grated
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the beef: Mix steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, and baking soda. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • Make the sauce: Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, black pepper, and rice vinegar.
  • Blanch the broccoli: Boil for 1 minute, then drain and rinse under cold water.
  • Cook the beef: Heat oil in a wok. Sear beef for 2 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Sauté aromatics: In the same pan, heat oil. Stir-fry garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes for 30 seconds.
  • Combine everything: Return beef to the pan. Add broccoli and sauce. Stir well.
  • Thicken the sauce: Pour in cornstarch slurry and stir until glossy.
  • Serve hot: Pair with rice or noodles. Garlic lovers, rejoice!
