Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

For the Spicy Glaze:

  • ½ cup hoisin sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or more for extra heat
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ginger powder
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil

For Garnish:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions sliced

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Meatballs

  • In a bowl, mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  • Roll into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.

Step 2: Optional Browning (For Extra Flavor)

  • Heat a pan with a little oil and sear the meatballs for 2 minutes per side.

Step 3: Prepare the Sauce

  • Whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, sriracha, rice vinegar, garlic powder, ginger powder, and sesame oil.

Step 4: Slow Cook the Meatballs

  • Place meatballs in the crockpot and pour the sauce over them.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours.

Step 5: Finish & Serve

  • Stir gently to coat meatballs in the sauce.
