For the Chicken & Sauce:
- 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
For Garnish & Serving:
- ¼ cup green onions chopped
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds optional
- Steamed white rice
Step 2: Make the Sauce
In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.

Stir in sesame oil and let sit for 5 minutes.
