- Onion diced (1 medium)
- Garlic minced (3 cloves)
- Tomato sauce 2 cups
- Diced tomatoes 1 can, 14.5 oz
- Chicken or beef broth 4 cups
- Heavy cream 1 cup
- Lasagna noodles broken into pieces (10 oz)
- Italian seasoning 1 ½ tsp
- Parmesan cheese grated (½ cup)
- Mozzarella cheese shredded (1 cup)
- Ricotta cheese 1 cup
- Olive oil 2 tbsp
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Brown Italian sausage, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
Add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, broth, and Italian seasoning. Bring the mixture to a boil.
