  • Breadcrumbs — ½ cup

  • Garlic powder — 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika — 1 teaspoon
  • Salt — ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper — ¼ teaspoon
  • Vegan cheddar slices — 4
  • Burger buns — 4
  • Lettuce — 4 leaves
  • Tomato — 1 large sliced

Instructions
 

  • Combine crumbled tofu (1 cup) and black beans (1½ cups) in a bowl.
  • Mash until mixture binds together.
  • Add breadcrumbs (½ cup) and soy sauce (1 tablespoon).
  • Stir in garlic powder (1 teaspoon) and smoked paprika (1 teaspoon).
  • Season with salt (½ teaspoon) and black pepper (¼ teaspoon).
  • Shape mixture into 4 patties.
  • Heat olive oil (2 tablespoons) in a skillet.
  • Cook patties 6–7 minutes per side.
  • Place vegan cheddar slices on patties until melted.
  • Assemble burgers with buns, lettuce, and tomato.
