- Vegan beef crumbles soy or pea protein: 200 g
- Pasta penne or fusilli: 150 g (dry)
- Olive oil: 1 tbsp
- Onion finely chopped: ½ cup
- Garlic minced: 1 tbsp
- Tomato sauce: 1 cup
- Tomato paste: 2 tbsp
- Italian seasoning: 1 tsp
- Red chili flakes: ¼ tsp
- Black pepper: ½ tsp
- Salt: ¾ tsp
- Nutritional yeast: 1 tbsp
- Fresh basil chopped: 2 tbsp
Instructions
- Boil pasta in salted water using 150 g, cooking until al dente.
- Heat skillet with olive oil over medium heat.
- Add onion and sauté 3 minutes until soft.
- Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds until aromatic.
- Add vegan beef crumbles and cook 5 minutes, breaking gently.
- Mix tomato paste, tomato sauce, seasoning, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer sauce 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add cooked pasta and toss evenly.
- Finish with nutritional yeast and basil, then serve hot.
