  • Vegan beef crumbles soy or pea protein: 200 g
  • Pasta penne or fusilli: 150 g (dry)
  • Olive oil: 1 tbsp
  • Onion finely chopped: ½ cup
  • Garlic minced: 1 tbsp
  • Tomato sauce: 1 cup
  • Tomato paste: 2 tbsp
  • Italian seasoning: 1 tsp
  • Red chili flakes: ¼ tsp
  • Black pepper: ½ tsp
  • Salt: ¾ tsp
  • Nutritional yeast: 1 tbsp
  • Fresh basil chopped: 2 tbsp

Instructions
 

  • Boil pasta in salted water using 150 g, cooking until al dente.
  • Heat skillet with olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add onion and sauté 3 minutes until soft.
  • Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds until aromatic.
  • Add vegan beef crumbles and cook 5 minutes, breaking gently.
  • Mix tomato paste, tomato sauce, seasoning, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer sauce 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add cooked pasta and toss evenly.
  • Finish with nutritional yeast and basil, then serve hot.
